►Process Automation via K-Tron Systems Engineering
For more than 40 years, K-Tron has been providing process automation solutions for material handling and process control. As the world’s leading feeder company, K-Tron is able to focus on what many engineers call the hardest part of the process&;the art and science of getting material into the process. When a process requires quality, consistency and control
– look to K-Tron Process Group for single source systems engineering.

When it comes to designing, replacing, or retrofitting the material handling system for your process line, there are no easy decisions. A bulk material handling system can increase production and plant efficiency while decreasing labor, material, and energy costs, but achieving those benefits depends on how well the system is engineered. K-Tron Process Group has experience and knowledge with designing systems for difficult materials: abrasive, friable, sticky, poor flow, moisture and temperature sensitive, sanitary materials, hazardous materials, hard-to-filter materials, liquids, closed-loop systems, and pharmaceutical ingredients.

►Series 2400 and P-Series Vacuum Sequencing Receivers
K-Tron Premier vacuum receivers handle powder, pellet, regrind or granular materials in a self-contained or central vacuum conveying system. The Series 2400 line offers filtered vacuum loaders and receivers for conveying materials in the plastics and chemical industries.

Series 2400 Powder and Pellet Receivers provide high capacity sequencing systems for powder, pellet, regrind and granular materials. Applications include railcar unloading, silo to daybin transfer, in-plant transfer and feeder refill. Various Series 2400 Powder and Pellet receiver models are available in carbon steel (painted), stainless steel or aluminum. Each receiver has a stainless check valve to allow multiple receivers to draw material from a common conveying line. All models feature quick connect clamps for easy cleaning and filter maintenance.

Bulk Solids Pump™ Feeders: Precise Feeding Using Patented Positive Displacement Feeding Technology
The new K-Tron Bulk Solids Pump (BSP) feeders have been specifically designed and engineered to provide gentle, precise feeding of free-flowing pellets, granules, and friable products. The BSP feeders do not use the usual screws/augers, belts or vibratory trays to convey the material. The feeder utilizes positive displacement action to feed free flowing materials with astounding accuracy, offering uniform discharge, consistent volume and gentle handling. The BSP feeders have vertical rotating discs that create a product lock-up zone, conveying the material smoothly from storage hopper to discharge outlet, achieving true linear mass flow.

►Gravimetric Extrusion Control Software: For Mono- and Co-Extrusion Applications using Single Screw Extruders

K-Tron's gravimetric extrusion control system measures the throughput of the extruder and adjusts its speed to maintain the desired rate and provide consistent end product quality. It is used with single screw extruders in both mono- and co-extrusion applications such as profile extrusion, cast sheet, blown film, cable coating and laminating.

The system is implemented in the KCM feeder controller and also in the K-Tron Smart Commander (KSC) feeder operator interface for co-extrusion of multiple layers. The K-Tron package offers mass flow or weight-per-length control, gravimetrically controls the layer recipe and acts as a mass flow sensor.
