K-Tron Smart Weigh Belt Feeder Now Available in Two Sizes, Doubling Feed Rate Range to 88,000 lb/hr

PITMAN, NJ (June 25, 2002) -- K-Tron’s Smart Weigh Belt feeder is now available in a 600 mm. belt width and in open and closed frame versions. The 300 mm. model of the Smart Weigh Belt was first introduced in 2000. The addition of the SWB 600 doubles the feed rate range of this product, handling feedrates up to 88,000 lb/hr. The K-Tron Smart Weigh belt feeder is the first to offer the continuous online auto tare option. Automatic and continuous online taring of the belt reduces maintenance, line shutdowns and manual calibration. A second weigh bridge enables this function. |

Laboratory tests also show continuous online auto tare improves long term accuracy. In addition, improved auto belt tracking, K-Tron's patented SFT weighing technology and its new SmartConnex control technology further improve the accuracy of the Smart Weigh Belt, which sets a new standard in weigh belt feeder reliability. The Smart Weigh Belt's improved performance and easier maintenance make it possible for processors to use weigh belt feeders in applications where loss-in-weight feeders had been their only option. It also increases the range of feed rates that a single weigh belt feeder can handle, an important consideration for wild flow applications. The Smart Weigh Belt Feeder has a stainless steel enclosure and is designed for easy cleanability. The conveyor assembly slides out easily, simplifying cleaning and maintenance. Weigh belt feeders are used in batch and continuous applications for higher feed rates of pellets and granular materials, where headroom is limited, or when feeding friable material that may be damaged by other feeding methods. -end- | |
